Some projects are led by Clutha Development, while others are delivered in partnership with businesses, community organisations, local government, iwi and government agencies.

Electrify Clutha
Working with Rewiring Aotearoa, local businesses and the wider community to improve energy resilience and accelerate the uptake of electrification across the district. The initiative explores practical opportunities for households, farms and businesses to reduce energy costs, improve resilience during outages and support New Zealand's transition to a more sustainable energy future.
Community Housing Trust
Exploring the establishment of a district-wide Community Housing Trust to help address housing supply challenges and support workforce attraction and retention. The project is investigating governance models, partnerships and funding opportunities that could accelerate the delivery of affordable and accessible housing across the Clutha District.
Community House and Land Packages
Supporting community-led housing initiatives by working alongside local groups and the Clutha District Council to develop practical housing solutions tailored to individual towns. Building on the successful Kaitangata House and Land Package model, the initiative aims to help communities attract new residents, support local employers and encourage sustainable population growth.
Clutha District Training and Development Awards
Celebrating the achievements of individuals who have completed workplace training, apprenticeships, trade qualifications and tertiary study while recognising the businesses that invest in developing their people. The awards promote the value of lifelong learning, workforce development and strong employer support, while showcasing the skills and talent being developed across the Clutha District.
Clutha District Business Confidence Survey
Delivered twice each year, the Clutha District Business Confidence Survey provides a regular snapshot of business sentiment across the district. The survey gathers insights into business confidence, workforce challenges, investment intentions and emerging issues, helping Clutha Development and its partners better understand the local business environment and identify opportunities to support future economic growth.
Destination Development
Growing the Clutha District's visitor economy through destination marketing, industry collaboration and product development. As the district's Regional Tourism Organisation, Clutha Development works with tourism operators, communities and regional partners to attract visitors, strengthen the local tourism industry and support the development of authentic experiences that encourage visitors to stay longer, spend more and return.
