Casual Needs Assessor

Mō te tūranga | About the role:

This a casual position to cover for staff leave within a rural Allied Health team.

We are looking for applicants with a range of generalist and specialist skills, and a genuine passion for working alongside clients in the inpatient and community settings, to provide needs assessment for older people with disability support needs.

This casual position, covering staff leave, will require you to be adaptable to change, resourceful and flexible to meet service needs.

 

Mōu ake | About you:

You must be a registered Allied Health professional or registered nurse, with a current practising certificate. You must also be a fully qualified Needs Assessor and fully conversant with InterRAI.

Additionally, you will bring the following:

  • A working knowledge of how health and disability issues impact on an older person’s ability to remain independent
  • Demonstrate commitment, respect and an attitude of valuing older people.
  • Ability to work with older people and their whanau in a community and or health setting to achieve the best outcomes for them
  • Excellent interviewing, assessment and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate with other health professionals, clients and family members/whanau
  • Understanding and knowledge of current support services and systems.
  • Good networking skills. 
  • Ability to plan own workload so that priority tasks are carried out on time with a minimum of supervision
  • Able to maintain a current New Zealand driver’s licence.

Kā mea whakaputa o mātou | What we offer:

CHF pays the equivalent of Health New Zealand rates and the salary for this role falls between Step 1($37.88 per hour) and Step 7 ($52.87 per hour) of the Need Assessor’s scale.
