Sandy’s Kaka Point is looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Cook to join our team.

We’re a busy local restaurant, bar and dairy serving a kiwi style menu with a focus on fresh, tasty and hearty meals. We’re looking for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced kitchen and is able to work well as part of a team.

The Role

• Approximately Friday to Tuesday, with hours generally from 11am until close
• Monday is primarily a prep day, so hours can be flexible depending on what’s required
• Preparing and cooking meals to a consistently high standard
• Working efficiently during busy service periods
• Food preparation, kitchen cleaning and general kitchen duties
• Following food safety and hygiene standards
• Working closely with the front-of-house and kitchen team
• Helping with menu preparation and keeping the kitchen organised and well stocked

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has previous kitchen/cooking experience
• Can work confidently in a fast-paced environment
• Works well under pressure and as part of a team
• Is reliable, punctual and has a good work ethic
• Takes pride in producing quality food
• Has good communication skills
• Can work independently when required
• Has a positive, can-do attitude

Hospitality experience is preferred, but the right attitude and willingness to work hard are just as important.
