Site Manager

Are you an experienced operations leader who enjoys a hands-on role and thrives in a fast-paced environment?

We are seeking a Site Manager to lead a busy waste and resource recovery operation in Balclutha. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills, operational experience, and a commitment to health and safety.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing landfill operations,kerbside collections, transfer stations, and associated operational activities. You will lead a local team while remaining actively involved in day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the site and associated transfer stations.
• Ensure contractual and compliance obligations are met.
• Support and promote a strong health and safety culture.
• Coordinate and oversee kerbside collection services.
• Lead toolbox meetings and manage site reporting requirements.
• Work closely with customers, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Manage plant, equipment and fleet maintenance requirements.
• Provide leadership, support, and direction to the site team.
• Operate heavy machinery and commercial vehicles as required.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• Previous experience leading or supervising a team.
• A current Class 4 licence being advantageous
• WTR endorsement.
• Strong communication and people leadership skills.
• Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
• Good computer literacy.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• A flexible, hands-on approach.
• Mechanical knowledge (advantageous).
